Dr. Sabour, tell us about yourself.

I’m a native Texan and spent my formative years living in Highland Village, just down the road from my practice! I love seeing the growth this area has experienced over the last few decades. I earned my dental degree from UTHSC San Antonio and, afterward, fulfilled a lifelong dream of living in New York City, where I completed a general practice residency and continued to practice dentistry before moving back home.  My husband, Matt, and I expect our first child this May! I’m constantly pursuing top continuing education opportunities around the United States, but most often, you can find me in Seattle at the Kois or Bioclear learning centers!

Why did you start The Dental Studio?

I take great pride in the care I provide for my patients and our community, and I wanted a place where that could be showcased and cultivated into my dream practice.  After several years practicing as an associate, it was time to venture on my own and, with the support of my husband and family, made the leap into business ownership, and it’s been one of the most rewarding decisions of my adult life.

Why did you choose Flower Mound to open a Dental practice?

I grew up here and am familiar with the area, it will always feel like home. The other major deciding factor to open in Flower Mound is my mom-Dr. Seysan-who has been practicing family medicine in the area for the last 30 years. It was a dream come true to build a practice right next door to her.  She has been a major influence on my practice in terms of combining science and evidence-based practice with customized care based on the needs of the individual.

Why is The Dental Studio different from other practices?

I love this question and I actually asked my team to help me answer it as I think it’s really a group effort that makes us stand out from other practices.  One differentiator is the office setting, from how the office was built to the color scheme and decor that create a calming atmosphere without being boring and it makes our patients feel welcome from the moment they enter.  We also take time with our patients to truly understand what they are looking to accomplish with their smiles; whether it’s general health or a full mouth cosmetic change, our patients feel heard and they know we have their best interest in mind.

What areas do you specialize in?

Bioclear has been a huge upgrade to my practice.  Injection-molded composite is an absolute game-changer whether it be for simple restorations due to decay all the way to providing a complete cosmetic before and after with minimal loss of natural tooth structure. Another area that I’ve really grown my practice and seen amazing results is neurotoxin injectables-the therapeutic benefits and resulting enhancement to patient smiles are undeniable for people who suffer from chronic facial pain and headaches.

When you are not practicing, what are your hobbies?

I love to be outside.  My husband is an avid cyclist and over the last few years he has taught me the joys of cycling whether it be as an endurance ride or a leisurely spin to our favorite coffee shop.  My Persian family background is where I get my love of food, cooking and gardening.  And one of my favorite places to go is the Colorado Rockies-breathing in the crisp, mountain air will forever be one of my favorite things in life.
